On those mornings when the fog is so thick that to sit up and continue to exist again seems a Herculean feat of strength, too much for one listless mortal, I’ve turned to the great humans who got up each morning to write and share their wisdom.
Since I’ve just set out on a new journey of my own, I thought I would share this wonderful poem with you all.
As you set out for Ithaka
hope the voyage is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
If you can do it for one day, you can do it for two
So, there I was, cooking a meal for the people living at a local homeless shelter, volunteering my time supposedly to help those more in need than myself. But in this rare attempt at exercising selflessness, what happens? They are the ones who end up helping me. They helped me more than I ever expected, more than I deserved, and more than a mere chicken pie could repay.
